What's New

  • Reserved Disk Space You can now request nodes that have at least a specific minimum amount of available disk space. Salad already allocates sufficient space for your unpacked container, but if your workload uses significant additional space - for example, if it downloads additional models after starting - make sure to specify the additional space when configuring your container group. Contact us if you expect to frequently need more than 50 GB free space in addition to that used by your container. Note that additional free space is currently free while the feature is in preview, but this may change in the future.

  • Edit Container Group You can now modify key parameters of your Container Group deployment. The new editing functionality lets you update your container images, change hardware requirements, adjust configuration aspects, and utilize new features that Salad may release. Changes to your Container Groups can be made with minimal downtime and while retaining the original networking configuration (DNS name). As you make changes, you will see the predicted cost associated with those choices updated in real-time.

  • $200 Incremental Billing For new customers that sign up going forward, Salad will charge the payment method on file each time your bill reaches $200. This helps mitigate fraud on the platform. If you use a high volume of compute and have an account in good standing, this requirement may be waived. Reach out to your account manager to learn more.

  • Improved Recipes UI You may notice that the UI when deploying Recipes more closely matches that of the Container Group deployment process. This includes providing downloading and creating status indicators.

  • More Selective Node Qualification We've revamped our node qualification process for GPU workloads to reduce the number of problematic nodes. This is an area we will continue to improve over time.

Bug Fixes

  • We updated the underlying container runtime with recent security patches.
  • Fixed issue with quoted arguments passed to command. Previously, sending complex chained commands and arguments to the container via the Command set during Container Group configuration could fail. These issues have been resolved. Nested quotes are not still not supported at this time.
  • Fixed an issue where a registry path/port combination with an image tag appended would cause field validation to fail when configuring a new container group from the Portal UI.
  • Various performance and usability enhancements throughout the Salad Apps.
